Unsettled Weather Most of the Week Here in Denton...

Nice warm spring day here in Denton. We will see temperatures making it to the 80 degree mark this afternoon. The cool front that had been in our area this morning has lifted back north and will continue to do so. The dryline is setting up in west Texas at this time, but there isn’t a lot of eastward movement for now.

We currently have a very unstable atmosphere which would be conducive to strong/severe storms, but there isn’t anything around to trigger them and the cap/lid is moderately strong. The dryline will finally begin to move eastward this afternoon and will be the focus for some isolated storms late today. Some storms could make into the northwest area of our region, so just be aware that there is a slight chance of severe thunderstorms in the forecast for later on today.

Storm chances will continue tomorrow as a cool front moves in from the west. Some of these storms could also be severe. On and off rain chances will continue through early Thursday as an upper level disturbance will be approaching and moving through our area during this time.

We will keep you updated as needed should storms begin to fire in or near the area. Also, I can’t say it enough, but keep those NOAA weather radios on standby tonight and tomorrow so that you can get early warnings should bad weather approach your location.

Have a great day.
